Launer & Associates is a real estate appraisal and consulting firm, located in Bakersfield, established in 1985. Our goal is to provide our clients with timely, accurate market information presented in a professional manner. The purpose of an appraisal is to provide you, the client, with an estimate of value that you can use in your real estate decision making. The client has the right to expect an objective value opinion based on accurate data, reasonable analysis and sound judgment.

Our principal appraiser, Michael Launer, holds the MAI and SRA professional designations. The MAI and SRA designations are awarded upon mastery of the Appraisal Institute's curriculum, including single family residential, commercial office, retail, industrial, multi-family, and vacant land properties, including subdivisions. Once designated, members participate in a continuing education program. Members who meet the minimum standards of this program are awarded periodic education certification. Michael Launer is currently certified under this program through December 31, 2017. These members adhere to the Appraisal Institute's strictly enforced Code of Professional Ethics and Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.
Mr. Launer has a solid background in the appraisal and financial/lending field in which he has more than 37-years’ experience. He has completed numerous appraisal and consulting assignments on complex commercial and development projects throughout California.
Mr. Launer has taught both residential and commercial classes for the Appraisal Institute and at Bakersfield College. He is active in Appraisal Institute leadership, having participated at local, regional, and national levels. Mr. Launer served two terms as President of the Bakersfield Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Mr. Launer is licensed in the State of California as a Certified General Appraiser, Certificate No. AG 002049. To qualify for the State Certified General Appraisal License, the appraiser must have a minimum of 3,000 hour and two and one-half years appraisal experience and successfully pass the Appraisal Qualification Board Certified General Examination. This license allows the Certified General to appraise all types of real estate.
